Juan Valcárcel

Juan Valcárcel is EMBO member, ICREA research professor and coordinator of the Gene Regulation, Stem Cells and Cancer program at the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG, Barcelona). He obtained his PhD at the Severo Ochoa Center for Molecular Biology (Madrid). After a postdoc with Michael Green at the University of Massachusetts, he established his group at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (Heidelberg) in 1996 and moved to the CRG in 2002. The work of the group focuses on molecular mechanisms of alternative splicing regulation.
